Located on the scenic 1 Ocean Beach Rd in Sorrento, The Atrium offers a remarkable dining experience specializing in contemporary Western cuisine. The vibrant menu expertly balances a range of small plates and hearty larger dishes, making it ideal for those who appreciate both refinement and rustic comfort in their meals.
Start your culinary journey with decadent small plates like the Parmesan Panisse, rich with creamy texture and subtly nutty undertones, or the delicate Salmon Gravlax paired with whipped goat’s curd and briny Yarra Valley salmon roe that bursts with flavor. For something more decadent, the Arancini Milanese envelops a luscious ox cheek ragu, infused with aromatic saffron and finished with a generous sprinkle of Grana Padano cheese—each bite melting effortlessly on the palate.
When it comes to larger plates, The Atrium doesn’t disappoint. The Slow Cooked Lamb Shoulder is a highlight, tender and deeply savory, served with earthy celeriac, a rich lamb jus, and sofrito that adds layers of Mediterranean zest. Complement your meal with perfectly crispy Country Fries slathered in smoked garlic aioli or a refreshing butter lettuce salad with tangy pickled fennel and fragrant tarragon, balancing the richness beautifully.
The seafood offerings showcase the freshness of the local waters, with standout dishes like natural oysters and grilled octopus that deliver a memorable briny crispness with every bite. For those seeking lighter bites, the Tuna Tartare and house charcuterie provide an elegant start or accompaniment to your meal. Sweet finishes include an ethereal Pavlova with passion fruit curd and mango, or a decadent Chocolate Marquise paired with fresh berries, rounding out a truly satisfying dining experience.
The Atrium’s atmosphere is a significant part of its appeal. The modern, airy space exudes sophisticated calm with a fresh, Hamptons-inspired vibe, highlighted by natural light and stylish design. While some diners have noted the lively, bustling energy during peak tourist seasons, this hustle adds an authentic seaside charm to the setting. It’s the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion, enjoy a leisurely lunch, or unwind after exploring Sorrento’s beautiful surroundings.

Noisy and chaotic with inconsistent service although to be expected at this time of year with all the tourists. Some of the food looked underwhelming as sous vide was used (perfectly understandable though given the volume of food going through the kitchen), but it was tasty. The fish of the day (ocean trout), was great, but the side salad was that cheap “mixed leaves” variety with chopped cucumber, which let the meal down. Nobody eats that stuff! We don’t need to go back again.

We thoroughly enjoyed it here. It’s such a beautiful modern space that feels lovely. Kudos to the people who did the renovation here. It’s amazing. We decided to make this a special night and had the shared seafood platter. The platter was delicious with excellent oysters, scallops, sliced tuna, prawns, lobster rolls and served with chips and a salad. We throughly enjoyed this excellent dish which we had with a local Pinot gris. Service throughout the night was utterly delightful, especially from the very polite, efficient and friendly server from Utrecht who did a wonderful job. This is far from a cheap night out but we found it to be very good and enjoyable and perfect for a special occasion

We visited Sorrento and the Atrium looked incredible. My husband and I booked a table for a date lunch without the kids! It truly felt like we were in the Hamptons - such a fresh, vibrant, atmosphere! The food.. We had a shared Spring Menu, it was so lovely to not even have to think about ordering. It was absolutely delicious paired with a few glasses of bubbles. After lunch we ventured next door to the Aurora Spa and Bathhouse! 1.5 hours of heaven! Definitely recommend both!

We were at the Continental Hotel this year for Christmas lunch in the Atrium. Set menu was excellent. Great setting and ambience. Well done to the team in the kitchen and the staff on the floor looking after us all so well on such a busy occassion.
